Aedra and Daedra

Description

I stand on the edge of madness, balancing between the two greatest forces that govern our universe. In one hand, I hold the fiery darkness, the hungry void that claws for nourishment to burn and destroy. In the other hand, I hold the icy light, that which creates all with pained love. It is only in this state of balance that I can survive, and it is only being aware of this that I may become strong.

Let it be known, with the Aedra above and the Daedra below there is no way to escape. You must either embrace these forces, or be destroyed by them.

It seems cliched to say that Alex Grey would approve of this spectacular image but I'm afraid he actually would! This tableaux is a great interplay of the chthonic and empyreal that actually meshes with a classic meditation trope of imagining two different colors coming from below and above, meeting in the middle to make a thrid that radiates beyond the mix of the two. My only quibbles are that I would have like the floor to show more of the grid the chthonic force is manifesting from and some contrast to make the blue-violet of the walls more intense and less nebulous. I like that the reverse apex of the golden empyreal force resembles an open book. Nice touch! Bravo! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c…" width="20" height="20" alt="" title="Clap" />
