Anger

I tried to fit a fractal I made in apophysis and a poem together in this one. I'm reasonably satisfied with the attempt, although I probably should have tried harder.

Emotions are extremely fast biological calculations on how to respond to a situation. They allow us to react to threats, bond with others, and capitalize on opportunities much more quickly than pure logic could. Yet, in their haste, they can sometimes guide us down destructive and disadvantageous paths.

When somebody says something which infuriates you, it is important to figure out why before you act. Why does their message threaten you? Once you have figured that out, try to think how they perceive their action. Try to think of how your identity and their identity might differ, and how they would view you if you responded in a way that would hurt them in turn. Also, don't forget the importance of your relationship with that person. Is it advantageous for you to risk damaging it?

If after doing all of these mental exercises thoroughly you still want to rip their heart our through their throat, and you have deemed that your relationship with them is of less importance than your justice, then by all means, spit fire and venom at them. Wound them as deeply as you can, and make them rue the day they ever laid eyes on you, but be prepared for whatever consequences await. Don't expect them to take the same lengthy considerations in dealing with you as you did with them, for if you expect too much of others, you will always be disappointed.
