This is a piece I made for a friend. Don't know if they will like it.
I think this is some of my better work though. This started out as a bit of a rehash, and then became very explorative. I learned some things while making this piece about the mechanics of the algorithms, and what I like to call the break points of the spherical transform. This is one primarily weighted transform at said break point, with two other transforms modifying its attributes and creating the texturing/highlighting of the piece. 
I've used some similar methods before, but I didn't really understand how I'd been achieving those results until now.

Sometimes I think I've been obsessing too much over the spherical transform, but I keep coming back to it because I've felt like there was mystery there. I didn't really understand why it produced the results it did. All the other transforms I've worked with are so much more predictable in the behavior when they interact with other transforms. Maybe I'm making an over generalization there, and I know I still have more to learn, but..... I finally understand what's going on with this one I think. That doesn't mean I still won't have fun playing with it, but it may mean I'll try to branch out more into other aspects of the program.

It might also mean that I'll finally finish that tutorial I've been writing on these for oh gosh, 4 years now?!?! I'm sooooooo old. Well, when 900 years old you reach, look as good, you will not.
