Description

This is something I created a long time ago, but never submitted. Is it particularly beautiful? Not really in my opinion. :XD: It may have some charming qualities, but it's too monochromatic for my taste. But I'm not submitting it because it's pretty (cuz it's not), I'm submitting it because it's epic. I built this out of 1 triangle with only 1 variation on it. This is a perfect example of my style of fractal art I think. ^_^ While sometimes I (like probably the majority of fractal artists) spend a long time delicately tweaking parameters to create the desired effect (granted, I'm certainly not the best at this) sometimes I like to just start playing around with wild and crazy ideas and see what comes out. A lot of the time I end up with complete trash when I start doing that, but occasionally I find out some really cool stuff. This was one of those cool things.

The idea is: In apophysis it's really easy to have nice ordered fractals by just using the adjustment interface to move the transforms at set intervals. However, if you only do this, you're really missing out on some exciting possibilities. Yes it's chaotic, but if you go in and start freehand manipulating things, you start to see more of the continuous flow of the flames, and you start to see the patterns more clearly. In order to do this you have to abandon the rigid interface and start scaling, rotating, skewing and moving with complete freedom. This was an early result I got for this technique that taught me the power of spherical transforms.

Anyway, I hope you like this piece for what it is. ^_^

Here are the parameters if you doubt me that it's really as simple as I say. :XD:
