Hi Everyone, I hope you're all having a great day.
I just saw that it was DA's 15th Birthday, which is pretty cool.
I read the article and they were encouraging people to submit journals with their questionnaire, and I figured, hey, why not?
So, the questions they asked are below, and my answers follow each one.

  1. How long have you been on DeviantArt? / I have been on DA for 8 years. Wow, that sounds like a long time. It's almost 1/3rd of my lifetime.

  2. What does your username mean? / a kinase is a type of protein that adds a phosphate group to specific targets, and in biology, they are vital signaling molecules. A universal kinase would be something that can phosphorylate any target.

  3. Describe yourself in three words. / "Human, Scientist, Artist" / that wasn't a very creative answer, but it was concise.

  4. Are you left or right handed? / I am right handed

  5. What was your first deviation? / lol, it was terrible, but it was called rage of troy. I had just read the Iliad at the time, and kind of sympathized with the people of the besieged city of troy. War allows us to do terrible things to each other, but that doesn't make it right.

  6. What is your favourite type of art to create? / My favorite type of art to make is literature. I make a lot more fractals than I write stories, but writing fiction allows you to interact with your imagination on a deeper level, and I really enjoy that.

  7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? / Hrm.... tough, but probably painting. I love making abstract art, but sometimes I want to make a specific image of something very concrete, or a fantasy world, and just lack the skill to create it. I really admire the incredible artists here of every discipline, but I probably envy the painters (both conventional and digital) the most.

  8. What was your first favourite? / It was a piece by GunnerRomantic which is sadly now in storage. I think they aren't active on DA anymore, but it was 8 years ago, and there are a lot of new artists who have joined since then. No internet community is static, and DA holds a lot of beautiful art and incorporates a huge variety of talented people.

  9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most? / Probably fantasy landscapes, but I haven't done a comprehensive analysis on the ~20,000 pieces I've favorited.

  10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? / Oh, that's not really fair. In fact, it's so unfair that I'm not going to answer it. I do have a lot of artists I really like, some mainstream, some less so, but I can't pick just 1.

  11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? / dumahdie She's a good friend, and I've known her for a long time, but never seen her in person.

  12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? / Yes, I've had some great conversations with a few artists here, and I feel my life is better for it.

  13. What are your preferred tools to create art? / My computer and/or a pencil

  14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? / Sitting on a rock in the middle of a mountain stream, it's where I came up with the idea to my favorite story, and it's just a great refreshing experience to be out in nature.

  15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? / I am not sure, but I loved when Zueuk released the apophysis 3d hack, and I felt like I was on the ground floor of exploring it. Sometimes I wish I devoted myself more to becoming as good at fractal art as some of the other artists on here, but it's hard when you're being pulled in multiple directions. In the end, art comes from the heart, and if all of your heart isn't in something, it's not going to be your best, or as beautiful as it could be. You can't force yourself to make truly great art, rather, it has to emerge from within you. Not all art can be captured or mass disseminated. Some art exists ephemerally in the little things we do from day to day, if only we let ourselves feel, and then express ourselves.

Sorry for the tangent on that last answer, got lost in thought. Anyway, I hope that satisfies the questionnaire.
Best wishes to you all, and I promise to release some new stuff soon.

Oh man! I saw this last week but I forgot to reply. I'm really flattered! I've always been curious about meeting online friends but I don't want to seem like a weirdo, lol. GIVE ME YOUR ADDRESSSSS....:paranoid: (More likely due to con artists. But I'm not one, so idk why I worry about being suspected of wanting friend's addresses for that reason.) I do have a penpal though, and we send packages twice a year for birthdays and Christmas. I sent you two things before, and you saved my butt when I was struggling with a math class. :)
